You’ve just started a new job that involves more business travel. Your doctor has warned you about high blood pressure, concerning cholesterol levels, and the looming risk of diabetes.

Managing your diet during these business trips is crucial, given the lack of control over what you eat. So, what can you do? Here are three strategies I recommend to my clients:

1) Establish Health Non- negotiables: Set personal health boundaries before choosing your meals. For instance, avoid deep-fried foods and opt for healthier alternatives.

2)Meal Sequencing: At buffets, begin with nutrient-dense, low-calorie options like salads and fruits. This way, you fill up on healthy choices before indulging in other foods.

3)Embrace a “Progress Not Perfection” Mentality: Aim to enhance your dietary habits gradually. For instance, reducing sugar intake from 4 teaspoons to 2 teaspoons signifies progress. Don’t be too hard on yourself for not achieving 100% of what you desire. Remember growth takes time..
